Saturday, January 28th – 9:00am – Mission Project with Campus Kitchen
Campus Kitchen is a wonderful, industrious group of Wash U students working to combat hunger locally.  The students go to dining halls and cafeterias at designated times to pick up un-served, usable food and prepare meals in our kitchen using that donated food.  Then, students deliver meals free of charge to individuals and agencies in our neighboring community who are in need of food assistance, such as homeless shelters, food banks, and families in need of food assistance.
You have to experience the wonderful energy and enthusiasm of these student leaders. Come help us prepare nutritious meals that will be served in the community. 8-12 church volunteers are needed. Sign up at the Sign Up Center down the hall from the church office, or contact Rev. Steve Westbrook. 

Saturday, February 4th - 6:30pm - Evening at an English Pub – Trivia Night and Live Auction!
Bring all your friends and join the family at First Church in the Lamb & Lantern Pub (the First Church Fellowship Hall).  This fun-filled evening will combine a full-blown measurement of your erudition and a live auction. Tickets are $25 per person.  You can bring your own beverages.  “Pub” snacks of nuts, pretzels, and popcorn will be provided on each table.  A dessert and coffee bar will be set up for your enjoyment at intermission.
Look for reservation forms soon.  Our goal is to raise $20,000 for church operating expenses, so we will be soliciting sponsors and donations for our live auction.

Sunday, February 5th - 11:30am - Expanded Coffee Hour to Welcome Interim Senior Minister Rev. Nayiri Karjian
We welcome Rev. Nayiri Karjian to First Congregational. Her first day is February 1st.  She will meet with the Council prior to the monthly Council meeting on Wednesday.  She will join us for our Trivia Night on February 4th – and we’ll even have some trivia questions about her!  She will be preaching on February 5th and we’ll have an expanded Coffee Hour afterwards to welcome her.  Please stop by the Church during the week or on Sunday to offer her the Extravagant Welcome of the UCC.  And remember to wear your name badge to help her get to know us!
