We are delighted to announce that on Sunday, April 28, Pastor Heather Arcovitch, by a vote of our congregation, was called as the Senior Pastor of FCC!

Heather will begin her ministry with us on August 1.

Originally from Milford, CT, Heather grew up in a large congregational UCC church, and tells us she feels right at home with our worship style. She majored in art at Connecticut College and had a successful career in the non-profit world, including work in the Peace Corps and CARE International. She also served as Executive Director of a YMCA with a large staff and budget. Social justice is in her DNA.

Heather earned her M.Div. at Eden Theological Seminary, where she led a number of student committees and was a teaching assistant in addition to serving a number of local churches. She is close to earning her Doctorate in Preaching from Aquinas Institute, and has studied at a number of other institutions, both Christian and interfaith. She is certified as a Reiki Master Healer, and is a trained labyrinth facilitator.

Her mentors include John Nourse and John Dorhauer, who know our congregation well and gave her enthusiastic endorsements.

Heather is an outstanding preacher. She is mature, caring, and creative. She is also just lots of fun – she has a great sense of humor and includes hiking, swimming, theatre, travel and brewing beer among her hobbies.

Most recently, Heather has been serving as Supply Pastor at Grace UCC, O’Fallon, MO.

We look forward to an exciting ministry as she joins us on the journey. Welcome Heather!
